Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SlabIQ(“SlabIQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”), available at theslabiq.com. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, a display name, and authentication credentials. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are stored in hashed form — we never see your plaintext password.
- Card scans and images. When you scan a card, we process the image captured by your camera (or uploaded by you) and the card details extracted from it (such as card name, set, number, grade, and estimated value).
- Collection and dealer data. Information you add about your collection, inventory, deal carts, completed transactions, and pricing/settings preferences.
- Usage and activity data. To operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service, we keep an activity log of in-app events such as pages viewed and key actions taken (for example, scans performed or items added to a collection), together with timestamps and your account identifier.
- Device and technical data. We automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and diagnostic/log data.
- Cookies and local storage. We use cookies and similar local-storage technologies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences (for example, light/dark theme).
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your account.
- Identify cards, generate valuations, and power related features.
- Monitor, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, including research and development to improve scan accuracy and performance.
- Respond to your requests and provide customer support.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies.
3. AI-Assisted Card Identification
To identify cards, scanned images and related data are sent to third-party artificial-intelligence and computer-vision providers for processing. These providers process the image to return the card’s details. We share only what is needed to perform identification.
4. Service Providers and Third Parties
We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Service. They may process your data only on our behalf and under contractual obligations to protect it:
- Authentication and database providers — securely store your account and app data.
- AI and computer-vision providers — process scanned images for card identification.
- Card data and image providers — public trading-card catalog and imagery sources used to display card information.
- Hosting and infrastructure — providers that host and deliver the Service.
We do notsell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a business transfer.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and update. You can view and update your profile information in the app.
- Delete your account. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data from within the app or by contacting us at the email below. We will delete your data except where we are required to retain it.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights such as access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. International Users
We may process and store your information in countries other than where you live. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at privacy@theslabiq.com.
